UK consumers can now check their personal Experian Credit Score directly inside ChatGPT, following a major upgrade to the Experian app on the platform. It marks the first time a UK credit reference agency has offered secure, authenticated access to a personalised credit score inside an AI assistant.
What's New in the Upgraded App
By connecting their Experian account within ChatGPT, users can now see their personalised 1250 Experian Credit Score displayed securely in the Experian widget within seconds, along with a clear breakdown of what makes up that score.
The app also lets people track their score history and score band over time without leaving the conversation, and compare current account offers through a built-in comparison table designed to help customers pick the best option for them.
For those wanting deeper insights, users are directed back to Experian's own app and website for a full personalised credit report, complete with tips on how to improve their score.
Why Experian Is Moving Into AI Platforms
Consumers are increasingly turning to AI tools for money management, but general-purpose AI platforms have historically only been able to offer generic answers about credit scores, based on publicly available sources that may not be accurate. The new integration solves that gap by bringing a person's actual, unique score directly into the conversation.
Experian powers the majority of lending decisions in the UK, including 8 in 10 credit card applications, which makes the Experian Credit Score one of the most influential numbers in a consumer's financial life.
"Today we're giving people secure access to their own personalised score, with a clear explanation of what's behind it, inside the AI platform millions already use every day."— Edu Castro, Managing Director, Experian Consumer Services UK&I
