NIQ and The Trade Desk Launch Global Partnership to Enhance Data-Driven Ad Targeting

NIQ, a leading consumer intelligence company, has entered a strategic global partnership with The Trade Desk, a leader in advertising technology. This collaboration integrates NIQ’s extensive insights on consumer shopping behaviors into The Trade Desk’s platform, enabling marketers to plan and execute campaigns with greater accuracy and precision.

As a result of this partnership, advertisers can now access new-to-market audience segments directly through The Trade Desk’s media buying platform. These enhanced targeting capabilities help brands connect more effectively with audiences worldwide.

Key Highlights:

  • Shopper-Based Audiences: Advertisers can utilize segments derived from NIQ’s vast omnichannel shopping data, digital purchase behavior, and advanced audience profiles from MRI-Simmons, a leader in U.S. media planning insights. These segments will be released under the new Consumer Canvas™ brand, created by NIQ and MRI-Simmons to offer targeted audience solutions.
  • Enhanced Geo-Targeting: New location-based segments combine consumer, retail, and market data to help advertisers identify high-potential geographic areas. The Trade Desk becomes the first global platform to adopt these segments, with an initial rollout in Western Europe, expanding to North America in Q2 and additional markets through 2025.

“Our collaboration with The Trade Desk represents a significant step forward in our mission to provide actionable insights across the advertising industry, at a global scale,” said Joshua Pisano, Global Head of Product, Media at NIQ. “By integrating NIQ’s advanced audiences into The Trade Desk’s leading data marketplace, we are empowering advertisers with new data assets that provide more effective ad targeting and drive better marketing performance across global markets.”

Jay Goebel, Vice President of Data Partnerships at The Trade Desk, added, “Advertisers are increasingly focused on applying data and decisioning to their media-buying strategies. Our collaboration with NIQ brings advanced retail data and geo-targeting capabilities to our platform, empowering brands to make more informed, data-driven decisions.”
