Moody's Corporation (NYSE:MCO) has elected Keith Demmings, President and CEO of Assurant, Inc., to its Board of Directors, effective November 1, 2026. The appointment brings nearly three decades of global insurance and operating leadership to the board as Moody's continues to expand its data and risk intelligence offerings.
A Career Built Inside Assurant
Mr. Demmings, 54, currently serves as President and Chief Executive Officer of Assurant, a publicly traded company that safeguards and services connected devices, homes, automobiles and commercial equipment in partnership with the world's leading brands, a role he has held since January 2022. He has also served on Assurant's own Board of Directors since that time.
Prior to becoming CEO, he served as President of Assurant from 2021 to 2022, overseeing all operating segments including Global Lifestyle and Global Housing. Earlier roles included Executive Vice President and President, Global Lifestyle (2016–2021), Executive Vice President and President, Global Markets (2015–2016), and Executive Vice President and President, International (2013–2015), where he was responsible for the company's international operations across multiple regions.
Since joining Assurant's predecessor company in 1997, Mr. Demmings has held leadership positions of increasing responsibility, including President, Canada. Across nearly three decades, he has led businesses spanning North America, Asia, Europe and Latin America, with responsibility for strategy, financial performance and growth. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Victoria.
