MetaRouter, a leader in server-side tag management and enterprise-grade data integration, has announced the appointment of two seasoned industry experts to bolster its retail media network (RMN) strategy. Nikhil Raj joins as President, while Patrick Harrington, Ph.D., takes on the role of Head of AI/ML, signaling MetaRouter’s deep commitment to driving innovation in data infrastructure, performance measurement, and predictive marketing intelligence.

“With these extraordinary additions to our team, MetaRouter is positioned to solve some of the most pressing challenges facing marketing and retail media today,” said Tim Brunk, CEO of MetaRouter. “Nikhil and Patrick bring decades of world-class experience to drive our innovation in first-party data ownership, predictive insights, data governance, performance measurement and attribution – all of which are critical not only to the retail media industry but to consumer businesses in general.”

Industry Experts Joining the Leadership Team

Nikhil Raj brings over 15 years of retail media expertise. He was part of the founding team at Walmart’s advertising business (originally WMX), and more recently led retail media growth at Moloco, where he increased revenue sixfold in two years. He also launched and scaled the global retail media practice at Bain & Company, giving him unique insight into the ecosystem across retailers, marketplaces, brands, and tech vendors.

Patrick Harrington, Ph.D., formerly of Modern Treasury, joins MetaRouter with deep AI/ML expertise, having held leadership roles at Block and Workday. Patrick also collaborated with Nikhil at Walmart, helping to build the foundational machine learning layer for the WMX platform. At MetaRouter, he will spearhead the development of agentic AI solutions aimed at accelerating customer value realization and increasing data utilization efficiency.

Tackling Key Retail Media Challenges

Retail media networks are revolutionizing how brands connect with consumers during their buying journey. However, fragmented data and siloed platforms have made attribution and ROI tracking complex. MetaRouter is tackling these challenges head-on by providing a unified data foundation built for RMNs.

Key capabilities of MetaRouter’s platform include:

  • Consent-based, privacy-compliant data collection for marketing and RMN teams
  • Audience targeting both onsite and offsite—whether logged in or out—with up to 200% increased match rates to walled gardens and DSPs, enriched by first-party loyalty data
  • Delivery of impression log data on a 1P ID that can be connected to online and in-store sales for attribution and lift analysis

These innovations help address the market’s demand for ROI clarity, standardized measurement, and greater integration between retail and advertising technologies. MetaRouter currently powers retail media infrastructure for 3 of the top 10 U.S. retailers and platforms like Allegro, the largest marketplace in Eastern Europe. The company also partners with Google Cloud Platform to deliver secure, scalable infrastructure to support next-gen retail media experiences.

With a strengthened leadership team and a clear focus on solving industry pain points, MetaRouter is positioning itself as the data backbone for the future of retail media.
