Mediacom Communications has appointed Jon Heleno as Senior Vice President and Corporate Controller, taking over as the company's senior accounting executive from Julien Dancona, who has retired after 25 years with the company.
A New Senior Accounting Leader
In his new role, Jon Heleno will oversee accounting operations, financial reporting, technical accounting, tax oversight, external audit and internal controls at Mediacom Communications.
He brings more than 25 years of accounting and finance leadership across complex, multi-billion-dollar organisations. Heleno joins Mediacom from Washington University in St. Louis, where he served as Associate Vice Chancellor of Financial Planning & Budgeting, overseeing a $5 billion enterprise.
Earlier in his career, he spent six years as Deputy Controller at Columbia University, and held senior finance leadership roles at Stryker and Mars, Incorporated, including as CFO of Mars Retail Group, after beginning his career in public accounting. He holds a B.S. in Accounting from St. Peter's College and an MBA from Montclair State University, and is a Certified Public Accountant.

The appointment is one of several recent senior leadership changes at Mediacom, following the naming of Troy Griffin as Senior Vice President of Customer Operations and Customer Experience and Toni Murphy as Executive Vice President of Operations earlier in 2026.
