Google Cloud used its London Summit to unveil a wave of new agentic AI partnerships, spanning UK government planning reform, a new Deloitte AI Studio, and an e-commerce shopping assistant from THG Ingenuity that is already moving the needle on real sales numbers.
Google Cloud powers a faster, digitally enabled UK planning system
Maureen Costello, Vice President of the UK, Ireland and Sub-Saharan Africa for Google Cloud, opened the summit by highlighting the company's role in the UK Government's push toward a digitally enabled planning system.
Google Cloud's technology underpins the national rollout of Extract, a tool built by the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) alongside the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology. Extract converts planning documents, including handwritten annotations, into structured, usable planning data.
The tool has already cut document processing time from two hours to two minutes, with the wider goal of reducing decision times for everyday planning applications by 50%. A related prototype, the Augmented Planning Decisions tool, is now in alpha testing with planning authorities in Barnet, Dorset and Camden, helping officers navigate complex local policy, ahead of a planned national council rollout in 2027.
"As the Augmented Planning Decisions tool moves toward its 2027 goals, Google Cloud is proud to be the platform of choice for its development, proving that when the public sector's vision is supported by enterprise-scale technology, the result is more efficient and transparent systems for everyone."— MAUREEN COSTELLO, VP UK, IRELAND & SUB-SAHARAN AFRICA, GOOGLE CLOUD
Deloitte and Google Cloud launch London AI Studio to scale agentic solutions
Deloitte used the summit to announce an expanded partnership with Google Cloud, opening a new AI Studio at its London campus in late July. The facility will act as a co-innovation hub where Deloitte and its clients build and launch production-ready agentic AI systems, moving organisations beyond experimentation into autonomous, action-oriented deployment.
The studio will initially target financial services, retail, healthcare, the public sector, technology and media, focusing on transforming workflows, customer journeys and business models across each sector.
To support the rollout, Deloitte is also launching an upskilling programme to certify 1,000 of its UK AI and data engineers on Google Cloud's Gemini Enterprise platform, creating one of the largest pools of advanced AI talent in the region.
THG Ingenuity gives retail an agentic upgrade
E-commerce infrastructure firm THG Ingenuity unveiled an AI Shopping Assistant built with Google Cloud, powered by the Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform. Rather than acting as a rigid chatbot, the tool serves as a hyper-personalised, context-aware shopping companion that learns a brand's tone of voice and product catalogue.
Early pilot data from Myprotein showed the financial impact of the rollout: a 5.5x surge in first-time buyer conversion rates, a 22% lift in average basket size, a 4.6% conversion spike among returning customers, and nearly a 10% increase in average order value.
"Through the agent, you can just describe your age, your diet and what's happening in your life — such as if you are weight training or on a weight loss diet — and the shopping assistant will give you a shopping list for what's best for you."— JO DRAKE, CTO, THG INGENUITY
