Commvault has named Brian Lanigan as its new Chief Partner Officer, tasking him with leading the company's Global Partner Organization at a moment when partnerships across hyperscalers, MSPs and resellers are becoming central to its resilience-driven growth strategy.
A New Leader for the Global Partner Organization
Commvault, a company focused on unified resilience at enterprise scale, announced the appointment on 6 July from its Tinton Falls, New Jersey headquarters. Reporting to Geoff Haydon, President of Customer and Field Operations, Lanigan will drive the company's worldwide partner strategy and expand its ecosystem of hyperscalers, managed service providers (MSPs), distributors, resellers, systems integrators, and strategic technology partners.
Lanigan brings more than two decades of experience building and scaling partner organizations across the cybersecurity and enterprise software industries. He has previously held leadership roles at SentinelOne, Lacework, Splunk, and HP Software, where he focused on partner-led growth, strategic alliances, and expanding cloud and managed services ecosystems.

Timing Coincides with Expanded Microsoft Partnership
Lanigan's appointment comes on the heels of Commvault's newly announced multi-year strategic partnership with Microsoft, through which Commvault's AI and cyber resilience platform will be offered as a native ISV service on Microsoft Azure. The collaboration is designed to give Azure customers the ability to discover, provision, and integrate Commvault's resilience capabilities directly from the cloud platform, spanning procurement, onboarding, and operations.
Commvault framed the move as part of a broader push to deepen co-selling and go-to-market collaboration with Microsoft as enterprises accelerate cloud adoption, scale AI usage, and confront increasingly complex data security threats.
Lanigan's Priorities Going Forward
Commvault said Lanigan's remit includes creating new growth opportunities through its global partner network and expanding the value those partners deliver to customers. The appointment arrives as Commvault continues to post double-digit revenue growth and has recently been recognized as a Leader in the Gartner Magic Quadrant for Backup and Data Protection Platforms.
