B Capital has appointed Dr. Andrew "Andy" Jackson as General Partner and Chief AI Officer, tasking him with leading the global investment firm's artificial intelligence strategy across sourcing, diligence, portfolio support and technology leadership for its AI-driven businesses. The move brings a veteran of G42, Palantir and Inception into a firm managing more than $12 billion in assets.

A New Mandate for AI Strategy

Dr. Jackson will lead B Capital's global AI strategy, working across investment, portfolio management and operations teams to enhance sourcing, diligence, knowledge sharing and founder support. He will also provide technology leadership for AI-driven businesses incubated by the firm.

His role will extend to the firm's investments in AI-driven businesses, including the recently announced agreement to acquire Russell Investments. Dr. Jackson will help establish an ecosystem of AI companies conducting AI research, building AI-native products and forming partnerships focused on transforming the investment industry.

A Career Built Across AI's Frontier

Dr. Jackson brings more than 20 years of experience in AI, machine learning and data, with deep expertise in enterprise deployment and responsible AI leadership. He most recently served as Chief AI Officer at G42, where he partnered with OpenAI on country-specific AI strategies for the UAE and oversaw governance for Stargate UAE, a 5-gigawatt AI infrastructure cluster that is the largest of its kind outside the U.S.

He also founded a Microsoft-backed regional AI Foundation focused on advancing AI governance best practices. Previously, he founded and served as CEO of Inception, a G42 AI lab that created the most extensive family of open-source AI models in the MENA region. Earlier in his career, he played a key role in expanding Palantir's presence across MENA, and he holds a PhD in machine learning from Trinity College Dublin.
