Adronite, the Seattle-based AI coding company behind full codebase intelligence platform Codistry, has named veteran technology executive Dr. William Colleran as its new Chief Executive Officer. Founding CEO Edward Rothschild will transition to Chief Technology Officer, focusing on product innovation as the company enters its next stage of commercial growth.
A Veteran Executive Takes the Helm
Dr. William Colleran brings more than 35 years of experience leading and scaling semiconductor and enterprise technology companies. As CEO, he will lead Adronite's business strategy, market expansion and customer growth, while advancing the company's vision to become the intelligence layer for AI-assisted software development.
Rothschild, who co-founded Adronite in 2023, is stepping into the CTO role, where he will continue leading product development, including the company's Adronite Context Engine (ACE) and its Codistry AI code generation platform.
The leadership change arrives as engineering organizations move beyond early pilots and begin deploying AI coding tools at scale, running into challenges applying AI safely and accurately across large, complex, existing codebases.
A Track Record in Complex Technology
Colleran previously served as CEO of Impinj, which he helped establish as a market leader in RFID technology, and led Innovent Systems, developer of the world's first CMOS Bluetooth chip, through its acquisition by Broadcom.
His background also includes leadership roles at Seattle-based venture-backed companies Lumotive and AnswerDash, along with serving as Managing Partner of Semiconductor Acquisition Partners. He holds a Ph.D. in electrical engineering from UCLA and a law degree from Harvard Law School.
